Cover Alterations in CNS gene expression occur with normal aging. The illustration depicts differential age-related changes in prefrontal cortical gene expression in normal subjects (top row) versus those with schizophrenia (bottom row). Gene coexpression network analysis was used to uncover biological processes, such as neuronal development and dopamine signaling, showing a failure of normal age-related down-regulation in subjects with schizophrenia.
