Transcripts forgdf7 can be detected in two bilateral stripes of cells in regions of the developing neurocranium (large arrows) and in precartilage condensations of the developing jaw (large arrowhead). Expression of gdf7 is also observed in the dorsal aorta (small arrow) and in the pronephric ducts (small arrowhead). The staining in the yolk is nonspecific.
