13GS retina preferentially hybridizes with the cone version of cone/rod cDNA pairs. Northern blots of total RNA (10 μg/lane) from 13GS and human retinas were probed with the cone or rod version of known rod/cone gene pairs. Blots were hybridized with 1 × 106to 2 × 106 cpm/ml of the appropriate probes. Exposure times: Tα cone, 8 days; Tα rod 16 hr; blue opsin, 11 days; green opsin, 3 days; rhodopsin 2.25 hr.
