The evolution of gene content in the hybrid genome of S. bayanus CBS380. (A) Evolutionary changes of the three MAL gene families in nine OGs in the Saccharomyces sensu stricto members and Nakaseomyces glabratus. (B) Increased gene copy numbers are observed in each MAL gene family in S. bayanus. (C) A phylogenetic tree of the MALR gene family suggests introgression of MALR genes in S. bayanus. The tree was inferred using the maximum likelihood method with 1000 bootstrap and reported as a percentage on each node. The tree is drawn to scale, with branch lengths denoting the genetic distance.
