An overview of the single-cell atlas of retrotransposable elements in neurodegenerative disease (scARE) framework: pipeline, analysis, and web portal. The retrieved single-cell transcriptome profiles underwent systematic processing via a customized pipeline, followed by analysis focusing on three aspects: the landscape of retrotransposable elements (RTEs) in neurodegenerative diseases, their cell type specificity, and disease specificity (discovery component). The scARE database provides search and browse options, along with six analytical modules, including highly expressed RTEs, differential expression between disease conditions, differential expression between cell types, correlated expression between RTE and gene, correlated expression between RTE and gene list, and coexpression networks.
