KHILL anticipates new variants. We show that in the UK population, a KHILL peak mounting around January 1, 2022 forecasted the emergence of the new Omicron subvariant, BA2. This variant was not properly classified by Pangolin (A) until 2 months later (B), well after BA2 had saturated the population.
