A representative cluster of BAC clones obtained by the analysis of FPC fingerprints for the RPCI-23 library (http://www.bcgsc.bc.ca/projects/mouse-mapping). A query with the clones RPCI-23–294A15 (D5Mit305 region) and RPCI-23–65I8 (the Tec-Txk region) identified 148 overlapping clones, 17 of which were previously placed on the contig by hybridization screen and STS mapping. This fingerprint cluster provided a link between two contigs identified originally by STS content mapping (shown by the red asterisk in Fig. 1). The sequenced and annotated clones RPCI-23–294A15 and RPCI-23–65I8 are shaded, and the color-coded triangles indicate BAC-ends identified through sequence annotation.
