  • The expression levels (copies of cDNA amplified) for each gene are indicated as adjusted means. The adjusted mean of expression for each gene and group is the mean amount of cDNA copies amplified corrected with the amount of cDNA copies of two reference genes (ACTB and GAPD) as described in the Methods section. ANCOVA analysis is done on the logarithm of the number of copies measured. The table shows the antilogarithm of the calculated adjusted means. The percent change is calculated as (100* ratio of compared adjusted means −100).P-values are obtained in ANCOVA analysis comparing adjusted means of groups. P-value < 0.0005 is marked with ***. We selected this level of significance after a Bonferroni correction for 100 independent tests performed. Time pm > 48 hours corresponds to an average time postmortem 73 ± 17 standard deviation. Time pm < 48 hours corresponds to a average time postmortem 34 ± 10 standard deviation. Age < 70 years corresponds to a average age of 53 ± 17 standard deviation. Age > 70 years corresponds to an average age of 79 ± 7 standard deviation. (n.d.) not determined due to high variability. All measurements were done in triplicate for each individual. Measurements done six times are marked with ⧣.
