An Intronerator tracks display of the region aroundunc-47. The top track shows the gene prediction of the C. elegans Sequencing Consortium (1998) that is used in AceDB. The second track shows a prediction by the Genie gene finding program (Kulp et al. 1996, 1997; Reese et al. 1997). The third track gives a high level view of the C. briggsae homolog. Regions of high homology (classified by the seven state aligner as highly conserved or coding) appear darker. Regions of lower homology appear in a lighter shade. Nonaligning regions are white. The fourth track shows a cDNA alignment. Note that in this case the Genie prediction agrees with the mRNA, whereas the AceDB prediction misplaces the first exon. Note too the highly conserved region upstream of the first exon containing known promoter elements for this gene (Eastman et al. 1999).
