Winners of the Genome Research poster competition at 2015 Biology of Genomes meeting announced

May 9, 2015 - This year Genome Research sponsored its annual poster competition at the Biology of Genomes meeting at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Posters presented by graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, were judged by members of the Genome Research Editorial Board, and awards were given for the top poster and two runners-up. First prize was awarded to graduate student Kimberly Kukurba from Stanford University for her poster entitled, “The X effect: Regulatory variation between the sexes.” Kimberly received a $500 prize and a one-year personal subscription to Genome Research.

Runner-up awards were presented to Matteo D’Antonio from the University of California, San Diego, for his poster entitled, “Identification of driver mutations in non-coding regulatory elements in breast cancer,” and Vijay Ramani from the University of Washington, for his poster entitled, “Spatial resolution of RNA structures by proximity ligation.” Matteo and Vijay each received a $250 prize and a one-year personal subscription to Genome Research.
