An interstitial segment of MMU10 shows perfect conserved linkage with HSA21. The HSA21-homologous segment is inverted with respect to the HSA21 telomere and centromere, but all genes mapped in both species are in the same relative positions. This conserved segment is flanked by regions of conserved synteny with HSA22 and HSA19. A subset of the 24 markers mapped to MMU10 and HSA21 is shown.
