Sequences from short YAC end PCR products in which the hexamer primer was discernible at the end were aligned to sequences from longer PCR products generated from the same YAC end with the same or a different hexamer primer. The sequence of the hexamer primer incorporated into the short product was compared to the corresponding sequence in the longer product (priming site). Mismatched nucleotides in the priming site are underlined.
