Phylogenetic tree and sequences used for codeml analysis of a NUMT cluster that contains dcNUMTs of seven ape species along with mitochondrial sequences of 59 (sub)species. The NUMT gene with an intact reading frame is MT-ND4L. Evolutionary pressures were estimated with codeml using the mitochondrial genetic code. The coding sequence is shown in color using the four-letter-DNA notation illustrating no pinpointed divergence of the NUMT sequences.
