ROC plot for comparison of the different methods on the pfam-local benchmark that contains proteins sharing local similarities. We see a significant decrease in the performance of using global fingerprints to determine similarity (DCTglobal) relative to the global benchmarks, whereas using domain fingerprints to determine similarity (DCTdomain) remains on par with HHsearch.
