Associations between invasiveness and the dynamics of gene gain and loss in major sequencing clusters of S. pneumoniae. (A) The estimated coefficient of the core genome parameter of the Panstripe GLM for each of the GPSCs. A higher value indicates an increased rate of gene gain and loss, and invasive GPSCs were found to have a decreased rate of gene exchange.
