Reference-quality de novo genome assemblies of the Drosophila melanogaster species complex. (A) Phylogeny showing the evolutionary relationship among the members of four mel-complex species. The contigs were ranked by their lengths, and their cumulative lengths were plotted on the y-axis. The colors represent different species. The D. melanogaster genome is the release 6 assembly (Hoskins et al. 2015). For previous work, Drosophila simulans is ASM75419v3 (Hu et al. 2013), Drosophila sechellia (r1.3) is from Drosophila 12 Genomes Consortium (2007), and Drosophila mauritiana is from Garrigan et al. (2014).
