The cover depicts how an RNA editing event changes the function of a key miRNA, miR-200b, during cancer development. The chance of a cell to become a tumor cell is like throwing a dice. If oncogenic events are dominant, the cell will tend to transition from benign (blue circles) to tumor (orange circles). Within some cells, ADAR enzymes modify the sequence of miR-200b (from A to G), which changes the role of the miRNA from a tumor suppressor to an oncogene, thereby contributing to the tumor development.
