Hierarchical and combinatorial TRM recruitment discriminate NR1H4-bound promoters and enhancers involved in control of cellular maintenance and liver-specific functions. The transcriptional regulatory logic defined in this study is summarized. The size of the TR and TRM above the chromatin and of the boxes below the chromatin correlates with the occurrence of binding and DNA motif at the distinct classes of CRM, respectively.
