Major Arabidopsis ITSs containing perfect telomeric repeats. Genomic DNA sequences containing (YYYTAAA)7 strings and several nucleotides upstream and downstream were aligned using the computer program, CLUSTALW. These sequences were identified using the PatMatch tool and the TAIR10 Whole Genome database (BAC clones) in The Arabidopsis Information Resource (TAIR; http://www.Arabidopsis.org). The name of the clones corresponding to each sequence is indicated as well as the hit corresponding to each clone. The right border of the 300-bp ITS is included in the alignment. Red letters label DNA sequences that continuously follow the (YYYTAAA)n pattern. Asterisks mark conserved residues.
