
In this issue, a novel approach is presented for systematically studying flux control of large-scale metabolic networks. The flux coupling graph calculated from the E. coli genome-scale metabolic network is depicted on the cover. The approach is also applied to human cancer, demonstrating that driver reactions acting as metabolic switches are key in controlling tumor development and may lead to new therapeutic strategies.
