CpG content and expression specificity. The CpG content was calculated in each core promoter sequence (−100 to +99) in each promoter class. The CpG content was defined as the number of CpG sites divided by (N − 1), where N is the length of the core promoter sequence (200 bp). The expression specificity was evaluated by relative entropy (see Supplemental Methods).
