MeDIP-Bseq strategy. MeDIP was performed on sonicated DNA to enrich for fragments containing methylcytosine (closed circles). The enriched immunoprecipitate was subjected to bisulfite conversion, which converts unmethylated cytosine (open circles) to uracil while methylcytosine is spared from conversion. The immunoprecipitated and bisulfite converted DNA was Illumina sequenced.
