Figure 2.

H2A.B regulates gene transcription. (A) The average expression level of H2A.B-bound genes is higher than that of H2A.B-unbound genes. The boxplot shows the log2-transformed gene expression level measured by microarray. (B) Lacking H2A.B down-regulates the expression of H2A.B-bound genes. The expression alteration of H2A.B-bound genes and H2A.B-unbound genes is examined in mouse ES cells treated with control shRNA or H2A.B shRNA. (**) P < 0.01 (t-test). (C) Loss of H2A.B induces the significant down-regulation of gene expression. H2A.B-bound and H2A.B-unbound genes are examined in mouse ES cells treated with control shRNA or H2A.B shRNA. Genes with a more than twofold expression change are grouped as up-regulated genes and down-regulated genes. (D) The percentage of significantly down-regulated H2A.B-bound genes is compared with that of significantly down-regulated H2A.B-unbound genes. (**) P < 0.01 (t-test).
