Examination of dauer formation upon insulin perturbation. (A) Neither loss of individual insulins (columns), nor pairwise insulin perturbation by combined mutation and knockdown (rows) results in dauer formation. (B) Individual insulin mutants form dauers in starvation-induced conditions similar to wild type (N2), indicating that they are not dauer defective. Dauer formation is illustrated as the average of duplicate experiments; data is normalized to wild-type (N2) dauer formation. Additional data can be found in Supplemental Table S2.
