Distribution of ULEs along Arabidopsis chromosomes. (Blue lines) Intergenic ULEs; (red lines) intronic ULEs. ULEs of both types are found on all chromosomes: On chromosome 1, ULEs are found on average every 6 Mb, whereas on chromosomes 2, 3, 4, and 5, ULEs are found on average every 1.9 Mb, 5.8 Mb, 3.8 Mb, and 2.2 Mb, respectively.
