A comparison of BLAST and SIFTER for the Nudix family of proteins. SIFTER consistently dominates BLAST annotations under this criterion. The SIFTER-C and the BLAST-C lines are the evaluation of SIFTER and BLAST using the generalized Nudix hydrolase terms as experimental annotations. It is interesting that, at >99% specificity, both BLAST and SIFTER performed as well or better on the original data sets than the generalized data sets. Note that the x-axis is on a log scale.
