Expression of pigment-type switching genes in cheetah skin. Fold difference in gene expression between black spot and background was determined by EDGE. The relative fold difference for genes that encode components of pigment-type switching that lie upstream (blue) or downstream (red) of MC1R signaling is shown, as in Table 4.
