Phylogram of bearded proteins in arthropod genomes. Unrooted Bayesian phylogram of bearded proteins from arthopod genomes. Names of proteins and their respective species are shown in Figure 4 and in Supplemental Table 1. Phylogenetic analysis indicates that while the individual bearded class gene from Drosophilid genomes cluster robustly together; those from other species cluster loosely together with long branches. It is likely that the relationships in this tree are distorted by long branch attraction.
