Neighbor-joining trees of lineage-specific Alu elements derived from genomic sequence alignments. All lineages with brackets were supported by the bootstrap values >50% with n = 1000 replicates. Clades with significant bootstrap support include two human-specific (Yb8/9, Ya5/8), a human/chimpanzee-specific AluY, and two baboon-specific AluY repeat families (A) and one human-specific AluY and one marmoset-specific AluY repeat families (B).
