Each of 1019 diploid gene sequences consists of two segments, disconnected once along the sequence. Therefore, each of 14,185 (13,166 + 1019; 92%) diploid gene sequences is disconnected, at most, once. Each of 636 diploid gene sequences is disconnected twice. Therefore, each of 14,821 (13,166 + 1019 + 636; 96.2%) diploid gene sequences consists of, at most, three segments.
