Minor discrepancies in gene numbers (ORFs and pseudogenes) from the original publications reflect our efforts to present the most current annotation data from the literature, available at GenBank (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov) and the Comprehensive Microbial Resource (CMR) database (http://www.tigr.org/tigr-scripts/CMR2/CMRHomePage.spl). Fusion of yidCD in B. pennsylvanicus counted as a single ORF.
