(A) GRN determined from entire set of protein-DNA interactions in the Drosophila DNase I footprint database (http://www.flyreg.org/) using Cytoscape (Shannon et al. 2003). Note that the majority of currently annotated protein-DNA interactions coalesce into a single interconnected network. (B) Sector of GRN shown in panel A demonstrating that known transcriptional regulatory interactions can be computed directly from text-based annotation of genomic DNA.
