Nucleotide sequence alignments of an internal region of LTR retrotransposons from Family XI. The full-length sequences of relatively intact elements were aligned using ClustalX and then a 1.8-kb region was extracted from the original alignment and edited manually. Dashed lines indicate deletions; dotted lines indicate sequenced regions not shown in the figure (six more deletions in this region flanked by short repeats are not shown in this figure). Stars with nearby numbers show base pair (bp) positions of the consensus sequences of full-length elements. Flanking short repeats in the boundaries of deletions are framed.
