Direct sequencing was performed using the PCR products from mock-treated (bottom left), HhaI- (bottom center), and McrBC-digested (bottom right) DNA. In the pedigree shown in A, the paternally inherited C allele ismethylated. On the other hand, the maternally inherited C allele ismethylated in the pedigree shown in B.
