(B) Strains 4.6 and 4.9 are streaked on TYE medium with and without IPTG. The difference between plasmids 4.6 and 4.9 lies in the absence of glyS and glyQ in plasmid 4.6. The elimination of both plasmids may indicate that eitherglyS or glysQ, or both, are essential.
