Western blot analysis of T. pallidum clones. Strains were grown overnight and protein samples were run in 10% SDS-PAGE gels. Gene products were visualized using pooled sera from rabbits infected with T. pallidum and horseradish peroxidase labeled antirabbit secondary antibody after chemiluminescent detection. Lanes: 1, DH10B pBeloBAC11; 2, DH10B pDSTP021; 3,DH10B pDSTP012; 4, DH10B pDSTP108; and 5, DH10B pDSTP179. pDSTP021 codes for 37 ORFs (TP0203–TP0240), pDSTP012 for 13 (TP0217–TP0229), pDSTP108 codes for 50 (TP0188–TP0237), and pDSTP179 codes for 28 (TP0198–TP0225).
