Avoidance of palindromes per type of phage: RNA, ssDNA, and dsDNA. SsDNA phages are divided into filamentous and isometric, and dsDNA phages into virulent and temperate. Each phage counts twice (for the analysis of size 4 and 6 palindromes), (O) no significant avoidance; (+) significant avoidance (5%, Wilcoxon test).
