Phylogenetic tree of primates established from banding (PPA, CAE, CMI, PCR, CAB, SFU, and CGO; see references in Dutrillaux et al. 1986) and Zoo-FISH (others species) data. Numbers refer to human homologous chromosomes. Ancestral forms of HSA7, HSA16, and HSA19 homologs are boxed. Only rearrangements involving at least one homolog to HSA7, HSA16, or HSA19 are indicated. Semicolons separate chromosomes involved in a same rearrangement and hyphens indicate pre-existing syntenies. Approximate branching datations [MYbp (millionyears before present)] are according to Martin (1993). (See Table 1 for the three-letter code meaning.)
