Detail of the contigs constructed in the goat PIS region. To avoid overcrowding, only three contigs are fully represented. Microsatellites (with prefix LSCV) that were genetically mapped are represented in blue. The different STS identified during the study are displayed along the BAC contigs, some are microsatellites that were not mapped genetically. BAC ends are encoded by SP for the SP6 end, and by T for the T7 end. Restriction sites are encoded by N (NotI site) and S (SalI site). Identified genes and ESTs are positioned along the BAC contig and represented in bold characters.
