The gap was measured by subtraction of the total size ofXhoI-SfiI fragment from the size of theXhoI fragment. Because one of the homologous chromosomes has undergone translocation in WO-1, only one XhoI fragment was assigned to both probes. Each probe hybridized to one other fragment from the translocation.
