[i] The true number of errors is probably higher than the observed counts, because some errors may be the same in both versions and would not be detected by the comparison. For this analysis we used the more recent PHRED version 0.000925.c because it gives more accurate quality values for MegaBACE data than the older versions of PHRED available during the competition. Parts of the BACs containing misassembled or misplaced reads were excluded.
