The accepted conservation is: α, A/T/G/S: β, I/L/M/V; δ, D/E/N; γ, F/Y/W. The letter x denotes any amino acid. Brackets indicate gaps inserted in the alignment to build up the consensus. A dash denotes the absence of a sequence with intron in these conserved regions.
