RNA editing of Amelα6. Sequencing traces of RT-PCR products from larval (L₀), pupal (P₁), and adult stages are compared with amplified genomic DNA. Editing is shown by mixed A and G signals. Amino acids also affected by editing in D. melanogaster and H. virescens are underlined. The edited region of Amelα6 is included with loop E indicated, N-glycosylation sites boxed and a cysteine, which is part of the cys-loop, marked by an asterisk. Amino acids targeted by editing are highlighted in bold.
