[i] ^aThe number of alternative splicing events were counted in a set of control non-eQTL genes, in the eQTLs identified in an Illumina microarray study by Stranger et al. (2005), and in an exon microarray (HuEx) study by Kwan et al. (2008). A one-tailed χ² test of homogeneity was used to determine the significance of the differences between the two eQTL gene sets and the control genes.
