[i] Fission yeast genes from chromosome II were deleted in a diploid strain using targeted PCR-based gene deletion procedure (Bähler et al., 1998). Diploids were sportulated and the spore viability was assessed on rich glucose medium. Deletion phenotype of the closest homolog in S. cerevisiae (if any) is given.
